Sep 7, 2023 | Events

It is wonderful to hear about the positive impact that KwaraCare (Kwara State Health Insurance Agency), has had on the Kwara State School for Special Needs in Apata Yakuba, Ilorin. The rehabilitation of the school clinic is undoubtedly a significant step towards improving healthcare access for the students.

On the 7th of September 2023, the newly rehabilitated School Clinic was commissioned. The Executive Secretary of the Agency among other dignitaries where in attendance. The Executive Governor of Kwara State, His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, ably represented by the State Commissioner of Health was also at the event, demonstrating the Executive Governor’s high value for affordable & quality healthy living for the people of Kwara State

The principal’s gratitude towards the Governor and the Agency is well-founded. It’s heartening to know that the school clinic, which previously faced challenges in procuring essential medicines due to budget constraints, now receives monthly capitation from KwaraCare to acquire the necessary medications. This not only ensures the availability of medical supplies but also relieves the school of the burden of using food allocation for this purpose.

Furthermore, the improvement in clinic facilities and staffing made possible by the Governor through the Agency will undoubtedly enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to the students. This development not only promotes the health and well-being of the students but also underscores the commitment of the Kwara State government to the education and healthcare needs of its special needs community.

KwaraCare’s efforts in this regard serve as a commendable example of how public-private partnerships and community-focused initiatives can lead to positive change in healthcare and education for vulnerable populations.
